At First Grammar Freshwater, we’re looking for a dedicated Centre Cook to prepare nutritious, tasty meals that help children thrive—while you enjoy a consistent weekday schedule and supportive team culture.

About the Role

As our Centre Cook, you’ll lead the daily preparation of hot and cold meals and snacks for up to 117 children. You’ll be responsible for planning healthy menus, catering to dietary and allergy needs, and ensuring a safe, hygienic kitchen. This is a fantastic opportunity to run your own kitchen in a rewarding early learning setting.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience with menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering, and kitchen operations

• Knowledge of allergy-friendly and special dietary food preparation

• A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations

• Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude

• Availability to work set shifts Monday to Friday

Essential Requirements

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or ACECQA-recognised early childhood qualification with cook experience preferred

• Working with Children Check / Blue Card / DCSI Clearance

• First Aid Certificate

• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
